Operate recreation facilities across Peterborough with ice resurfacing, pool chemistry, parks maintenance, and public service responsibilities. This temporary position supports indoor and outdoor locations.
The City of Peterborough seeks a Recreation Facility Operator for Community Services and the Ptbo Sport & Wellness Centre. Reporting to facility and parks supervisors, you will maintain facilities, parks, equipment, and related mechanical systems. You will also support rentals, seasonal staff, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Operate ice resurfacing and landscape equipment
Record refrigeration and pool chemistry readings
Maintain sports fields, splash pads, and playgrounds
Perform repairs, cleaning, janitorial work, and snow clearing




Assist facility rentals and direct seasonal staff
Requirements: Grade 12 education or equivalent
One year recreational facilities or parks maintenance experience
Basic Arena Refrigeration and Certified Pool Operator courses
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS 2015
Basic computer skills and ability to work independently
Bring facility operations, equipment maintenance, safety awareness, and customer service skills to recreation services in Peterborough.
