Reporting to the Manager, Engineering & Maintenance, the Painter/Journeyperson maintains interior and exterior hospital surfaces. The work includes surface preparation, painting, drywall repairs, and general maintenance support. Success requires safe, independent work and careful prioritization.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, and priming
Apply paints, stains, and finishes indoors and outdoors
Repair, patch, and finish drywall surfaces
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
Follow safety protocols in patient-care areas
Requirements: Certificate of Qualification as Painter/Journeyperson or equivalent
Valid 404C Trade Certificate
Relevant painting, drywall, and general maintenance experience
Knowledge of preparation, finishing techniques, and materials
Independent work, prioritization, detail, and safety awareness
Bring qualified painting, drywall, and maintenance skills to support safe, well-maintained facilities throughout BCHS hospital sites.
