Responsibilities

Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components

Strong Knowledge of oil pumps and cooling/heating systems

Create, repair and install machine guarding

Ability to detect, troubleshoot, and repair irregularities and malfunctions in production equipment

Fabricate parts as required, do overhauls, and changeovers/set ups as required

Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishment, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools

Dismantles machines and equipment

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Complete documentation/paperwork as required

Communicate with Supervisors and Managers on safety or process related issues

Adhere to plant safety rules, health and safety policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must possess an Ontario Certificate of Qualification, Red Seal Millwright 433A License

Preferably 2-3 years trade experience

Experience in an extrusion equipment environment is an asset

Available to work 8 hour shifts rotating days, nights, and afternoons and overtime as needed

Robust written and oral English communication skills combined with excellent attendance

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and safely

Knowledge of CMMS systems, excel, Microsoft Windows/Office

Secondary Trade Qualifications and/or experience in Electrical, Welding, or Pipefitting are definite assets

Knowledge of PLC's.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, bend, twist, lift, use hands, finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
