Fog Panther seeks an engineer for research-leaning imaging work within a very small team. You will assess denoising, sharpening, segmentation, inpainting, colour, and related methods. The work combines linear algebra, signal processing, numerical methods, Python, and image processing. You will evaluate whether published techniques hold up on real images before production implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Survey literature across image processing and computer vision areas
- Reproduce published results and report failure cases honestly
- Develop or adapt algorithms when existing methods do not fit
- Build prototypes using Python, NumPy, SciPy,
or comparable tools
- Document derivations, comparisons, evaluations, and algorithm decisions
Requirements:
- Foundation in linear algebra, signal processing, numerical methods, and optimisation
- Image processing or computer vision background
- Track record developing working prototypes independently
- Python scientific-stack fluency or comparable Julia or MATLAB experience
- Reading-level comfort with C or C++
Apply research discipline, mathematical reasoning, and prototype-driven image processing to Fog Panther’s native Linux desktop editor in Toronto.
