- Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour ($27.00 per hour after training)
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts on a 4-day rotation
Site Overview
This tactical mobile role covers various client facilities across the Courtenay area. Rather than staying at a single fixed post, you will operate a company vehicle to protect multiple properties, respond to urgent situations, and maintain a visible safety presence across diverse grounds and facilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct emergency responses to alarms, property damage, and safety breaches within designated timeframes.
- Operate a Paladin vehicle and perform foot patrols inside and outside client facilities, including navigating stairs and uneven terrain.
- Direct unauthorized individuals to leave client premises firmly and professionally.
- Work directly with police, fire, and ambulance first responders when incidents occur.
- Report incidents to the Security Command Centre and complete detailed report logs for every shift.
- Build positive working relationships with local business operators to support community safety.
Must Haves
- Valid BC Security Licence
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in the security industry
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a clean driving abstract
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts on a 4-day rotation
- Computer skills, including experience with MS Office
- Solid communication skills and a calm, professional customer service approach
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Nice-to-Haves
- Advanced Security Training (AST) or experience with handcuffing and self-defense (training provided to successful candidates)
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2) certification (training provided to successful candidates)
- Post-secondary education in Criminology or Law Enforcement
