Deliver geriatric care as an independent Nurse Practitioner with Extendicare in Peterborough, using advanced assessment and clinical decision-making skills.

This independent contractor position serves residents with acute and chronic health needs. The Nurse Practitioner practices within the extended class scope, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and following College of Nurses of Ontario standards. Extendicare seeks clinically skilled practitioners with strong communication, critical thinking, and commitment to person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive histories, mental status evaluations, and physical examinations
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate resident clinical care
- Order and interpret screening and diagnostic tests




- Develop and adjust individualized care plans
- Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies

Requirements:

- Current unrestricted College of Nurses of Ontario registration
- Registered Nurse Extended Class designation
- Master’s degree and post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner certificate
- Qualified liability insurance
- Primary care, gerontology, dementia, or complex care experience preferred
