Overview

We are seeking a friendly, dependable Food Counter Attendant to provide welcoming, efficient service in a fast-paced food service environment. The successful candidate will help prepare and serve food, process orders accurately, and maintain a clean, sanitary counter and work area. Robust customer service, time management, and attention to food safety are essential.

Duties

- Greet customers, answer questions about menu items, and take orders with care and accuracy.
- Use a POS system, including Micros POS where applicable, to enter orders and process transactions.
- Handle cash and complete cashiering tasks accurately; use basic math and math skills to verify orders and payments.
- Assist with food preparation and serving, following recipes, portion guidelines, and food-handling procedures.
- Follow food safety practices, including proper handwashing, temperature control, and safe storage of ingredients.
- Keep counters, kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment clean through regular sanitation and cleaning.
- Restock supplies and communicate inventory or equipment needs to the team.




- Suggest relevant menu items and use appropriate upselling techniques while keeping customer needs in mind.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to keep orders moving and provide a positive customer experience.
- Manage time effectively while balancing customer service, food preparation, and cleaning duties.

Experience

- Food service experience, restaurant experience, or experience in the food industry is helpful.
- Kitchen experience, food preparation, serving, or food handling experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is preferred.
- Cashiering and cash-handling experience is beneficial.
- Basic math skills and accuracy with transactions are important.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is an advantage.
- A customer-focused attitude, reliability, clear communication, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team are essential.

Pay: $15.90-$16.25 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 38.0 per week
