About HMG
HMG Inc. is a brand development agency that takes premium manufacturer brands to market in the Canadian aftermarket automotive and powersports industry. We own the full sales lifecycle for our brand partners — two-step distribution, dealer-direct, and retail-direct — so they get repeatable demand, not one-off orders.
We represent industry-leading manufacturers in performance exhaust, diesel, truck accessories, and premium detailing — sold through Canada's top warehouse distributors and a national network of 3,000+ dealers and shops. Every territory is backed by our in-house marketing team, running social, content, and paid ads for our brands. We're headquartered in Bracebridge, Ontario, growing fast, and expanding into national retail chains.
We run on a few easy rules: lead by example, go the extra mile, take initiative, and build positive relationships. If you'd rather own a territory than ride a desk, you'll fit in here.
The Role
You'll be HMG's face in Ontario and Quebec. You own the territory end to end: get our brands listed and stocked with warehouse distributors, open and grow dealer accounts, and train dealer staff so product sells through — not just sells in.
This is a senior field role. You'll report directly to the President, work alongside our Western Canada Territory Manager, and have real input on which brands and programs we push in the East.
You'll sell a portfolio of premium brands, not one. When one line is slow, another is moving — your book and your commission aren't tied to any single brand's fortunes.
Why This Role
- Your results set the ceiling. Commission is uncapped and paid on the growth you create. Build the territory bigger, and you earn more.
- Something to sell in every door. A multi-brand portfolio means every account has a reason to buy — you never walk in with one product and no fallback.
- Demand behind you. Our in-house marketing team runs social, content, and paid campaigns for our brands, so dealers know the product before you walk in.
- A territory to build, not just maintain. Ontario and Quebec are Canada's largest aftermarket markets. You'll open new accounts, launch new brands, and write the playbook for the East.
- No layers. You work directly with the President. Decisions get made fast, and good ideas from the field get acted on.
- Room to lead. As the Eastern team grows, the person who builds it is first in line to run it.
What You'll Do
Territory & accounts
- Own Ontario and Quebec: build and work a book of truck and 4x4 shops, performance shops, new-car dealer accessory departments, and powersports dealers.
- Open new dealer accounts and grow existing ones: account setups, starter packs, displays, and demo units.
- Build and run a quarterly territory plan: target accounts, brand priorities, and growth goals.
Distribution
- Work our warehouse distributor partners — get lines listed and stocked locally, ride along with WD reps, and run counter days and WD shows.
- Launch new brand lines into the East as our portfolio grows.
Training & events
- Train dealer and distributor staff on product, fitment, and how to sell it — in English or French.
- Work trade shows and dealer events across the territory.
- Help adapt sell sheets and training material for French-speaking accounts, and help onboard junior team members as the Eastern team grows.
Cadence & reporting
- Run a disciplined weekly cadence: visits and calls every day, every touch logged in our CRM (Badger Maps), follow-ups kept current.
- Report what you see in the field: sell-through, competitor pricing, stock gaps, and new product opportunities.
What Success Looks Like
First 90 days
- You know every brand, program, and key fitment well enough to train a parts counter.
- You've met the top dealer accounts and distributor branches across the territory, and ridden along with their reps.
- Your weekly cadence is running: full days in the field, every visit logged, every follow-up dated.
- Your first new dealer accounts are open and ordering.
First 12 months
- Measurable sales growth on every brand across Ontario and Quebec.
- 25+ new dealer accounts opened and reordering.
- Distributor partners in the East treat you as their go-to for training, programs, and support.
- You own a territory plan: which accounts, which brands, which quarter.
How We Operate
We hold a high standard, every week.
- Results over activity. We measure growth, not hours. The activity that gets you there shows up in the CRM.
- Nothing goes stale. Every visit is logged the same day. Every follow-up has a date and gets done on it.
- Every touch moves something. Intros and follow-ups go out with pricing, load sheets, and a clear next step — never “let me know.”
- Bring solutions, not just problems. When something's stuck, come with three ways to fix it, and we'll decide together.
- Know your numbers. You know where every brand and key account stands, every week, without being asked.
- Own the outcome. Wins and misses both.
What You Bring
Required
- Minimum 5 years of B2B outside or territory sales, with a track record of growing accounts.
- Fluent English and French, spoken and written. French serves our Quebec dealers; English is required because half the territory is Ontario and our manufacturer partners and distributors operate in English.
- Experience selling through a channel — distributors, dealers, or jobbers — not only direct to end users.
- Valid driver's licence, clean abstract, and a reliable vehicle. Comfortable with regular travel, including overnights.
- Self-managed and disciplined: you run your own week from a home office and close every loop.
- Comfortable with a CRM, email, and Excel.
Strong assets
- Aftermarket automotive, truck and off-road, performance, or powersports background.
- An existing dealer or distributor network in the territory.
- Hands-on product knowledge — exhaust, diesel, truck accessories, or detailing.
- Trade show experience.
