Snow Removal Crew – Seasonal Salary & Casual Positions

Terrakata Inc. is looking for reliable, physically capable workers to join our snow removal team for the upcoming winter season in the Bow Valley.

This is a hands-on outdoor position involving residential and commercial snow clearing. Work is primarily completed by hand using snow shovels and related equipment.

Snowfall can happen at any time, so applicants must be comfortable with early mornings, variable hours, and working outdoors in winter conditions.

Employment Opportunities

We offer two types of positions:

Seasonal Salaried Positions

Ideal for dependable applicants who can commit to being available throughout the winter season. These positions provide consistent monthly income regardless of snowfall, following successful completion of the probationary period.

Casual / On-Call Positions

Ideal for applicants seeking flexible work and additional income. Casual workers can provide their availability and accept assignments that fit their schedules.

Our property-based pay structure rewards motivated, efficient workers with excellent earning potential. Unlike traditional hourly positions, your earning potential increases as you become more proficient at completing your assigned properties.

With this system, it’s not uncommon for motivated, efficient workers to occasionally earn the equivalent of more than $50/hour. Actual earnings depend on individual efficiency, assigned properties, and snowfall conditions. This is performance-based compensation, not a guaranteed hourly wage.

Transportation Requirements – Significant

Applicants must have their own reliable vehicle and be able to travel independently between multiple properties throughout their assigned route.

Snow clearing involves servicing several residential and commercial properties,



often in different areas of Canmore.

Workers are responsible for their own transportation between job sites. Terrakata does not provide vehicles or transportation.

Responsibilities

- Shovelling snow from sidewalks, walkways, stairs, entrances, driveways, and other assigned areas
- Completing assigned properties safely and efficiently
- Travelling between assigned properties throughout the shift
- Monitoring snow and ice conditions while working
- Communicating with the crew regarding completed work and any site concerns
- Working independently and as part of a small team
- Being available for early-morning starts when snowfall requires it

Qualifications

- Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work in winter conditions
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Own a reliable vehicle for travelling between job sites
- Comfortable working independently
- Previous landscaping, snow removal, construction, labour, or outdoor work experience is an asset but is not required

Compensation

Seasonal Salary: Predictable monthly income throughout the winter season, following successful probation.

Casual / On-Call: Competitive, performance-based compensation determined by completed properties rather than a fixed hourly rate. Our system rewards efficiency, experience, and a strong work ethic, allowing motivated workers to increase their earning potential as they develop their skills.

Vehicle compensation is included in property-based payouts.
