Health Care Aide (HCA) / Caregiver - TO START ASAP

Luxcare Senior Care is looking for compassionate and reliable Health Care Aides (HCAs) and caregivers to provide personal care and support to seniors and older adults in their own homes and in independent living communities throughout the Victoria, BC area.

We are looking for candidates who can start as soon as possible and are interested in consistent, ongoing work with our clients. Candidates who are currently registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry are strongly encouraged to apply.

LPNs who are also interested in providing HCA/caregiving services are welcome to apply.

Important Requirements

- Must currently reside in Victoria, BC, or be able to reliably work in the Victoria area
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Health Care Aide (HCA) certification and/or current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry is strongly preferred
- LPNs interested in providing HCA/caregiving services are welcome to apply
- Must be available to start as soon as possible
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable transportation preferred
- If using a personal vehicle for work-related purposes, the vehicle must carry valid liability insurance, including business-use coverage, with a minimum of $2 million liability coverage
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification
- Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain one
- FoodSafe and WHMIS certifications are required
- Previous experience supporting seniors is preferred
- Solid communication skills, reliability, compassion, and the ability to work independently

What You’ll Do

Depending on client needs, responsibilities may include:





- Providing compassionate personal care and assistance with daily living
- Assisting with toileting, mobility, transfers, repositioning, and personal hygiene
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting clients living with dementia and other age-related conditions
- Providing medication reminders and reporting changes in the client’s condition
- Promoting client safety, dignity, comfort, and independence
- Performing light housekeeping duties related to client care
- Communicating important observations and updates to the care team and family
- Providing care and support to clients living in their own homes or in independent living communities
- Providing overnight support when scheduled and responding appropriately to client needs during overnight shifts

Overnight Availability

Some available shifts include overnight shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, including weekdays and weekends, depending on client needs.

Caregivers scheduled for overnight shifts are expected to remain available and responsive throughout the shift and provide assistance as needed based on the client’s care plan and needs.

Overnight experience is an asset, but we are primarily looking for qualified, reliable Health Care Aides and caregivers who are available to start as soon as possible.
