Scott and Stewart Forestry Consultants are looking to add additional machine operators to our team in Atlantic Canada. This position is open to new and experience machine operators on various types of equipment. This role is operating a skidder for site preparation and wood harvesting operations across Nova Scotia.

Roles and Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with Scott & Stewart Forestry Consultants operating safety policies and procedures.

Work independently and part of a team.

Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.

Ensure that company equipment, material and worksite are maintained, kept clean and stored in a protected manner.

Complete required paperwork, reporting and other documentation.

Availability to work different schedules, various locations.

Travel and ability to stay on the road within Atlantic Canada is required depending on work location.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Scott and Stewart will provide training to qualified applicants

Experience operating forestry equipment considered an asset.

Certificate/diploma in Heavy Equipment Operating or equivalent operating experience is considered an asset

Valid Class 5 drivers license

Mechanical aptitude:



Ability to read gauges, dials, and other indicators and adjust when necessary. Understanding of hydraulic systems and hoses.

Interpersonal skills/teamwork:Ability to coordinate actions with those of others who work on site.

Troubleshooting: Ability to detect and fix minor mechanical and electrical issues.

Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to identify solutions to problems occurring on worksite to choose the most successful solution

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and productivity

Paid weekly via Direct Deposit
