Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Cook's Assistant and Meals Specialist to support our culinary team in preparing and serving nutritious meals. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and providing excellent food service to our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, a strong understanding of food handling procedures, and experience working in a food service environment. Duties

- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen supervisor
- Help with food service by serving meals to residents or guests in a courteous manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed at all times
- Assist in setting up dining areas and ensuring all serving utensils and supplies are available




- Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene standards are met
- Support inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying staff when stock needs replenishing

Skills

- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Ability to serve meals efficiently while maintaining professionalism and friendliness
- Familiarity with restaurant or kitchen environments is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and serving guests
- Basic understanding of the food industry standards for safety and quality assurance

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
