Piper Arms Pub Whitby is looking for an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Bartender / Server to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

As a Bartender / Server, you will be responsible for preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, serving food and drinks, providing outstanding customer service, maintaining clean and organized service areas, and working closely with the front and back of house teams to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and provide knowledgeable menu recommendations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, dining area, glassware, and equipment.
- Process food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system (Micros POS experience is an asset).
- Ensure compliance with Smart Serve, food safety, and responsible alcohol service standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
- Assist with restocking bar and service supplies.
- Work closely with bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, and management to maintain efficient service.




- Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
- Complete opening, closing, and assigned side duties.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years of serving and/or bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant, pub, or bar.
- Solid knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, food service, and responsible alcohol service.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy service periods.
- Experience using POS systems (Micros POS is an asset).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Smart Serve Certification is required or must be obtained before starting.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
