What we do: We build the structural shell on high end custom cottages and boathouses across Muskoka- foundations to roof, dried in. We’re looking for a framer who has actually done this work on real jobs: engineered framing, beams, roof systems, multi storey, inspections.

Who we are: Sustainment has been framing and shell-contracting in Muskoka for 7 years. We've built our reputation on quality craftsmanship, having the privilege to build some of the most prestigious, complex structures on the Muskoka waterfront and we need another experienced hand on the tools. Our crews are run by foremen who came up through framing and still frame. We operate on three values: Integrity, Craftsmanship, Service.

What you’ll be doing:

- Framing floors, walls, and roofs on custom residential builds. Stick-framed and panelized, often with engineered beams, LVLs, steel, and complex rooflines
- Reading structural drawings and engineered layouts and building to them, not around them
- Setting and bracing walls, cutting and setting roof systems, framing boathouse structures over water
- Passing framing inspections the first time
- Keeping your area protected and clean and looking out for the people around you

What we need from you (non-negotiable):

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on structural framing on residential or commercial jobsites. You’ve framed full houses or buildings as part of a crew.




- Can layout, cut, and stand a wall from the plans without being walked through it
- Have framed roofs, conventional cuts and trusses and set beams and headers
- Comfortable at heights, outdoors year round, and on a scaffold or lift
- Own basic hand tools and show up with them every day
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation (our sites are spread across Muskoka)
- Working at Heights certificate

Nice to have:

- Red Seal or registered carpentry apprenticeship
- Experience with boathouses, cribs, or building over water
- Telehandler or manlift ticket
- Exterior finish experience (siding, trim, soffit)

What we offer:

- $32–$40/hour depending on verified experience, we pay experienced framers an experienced framer’s wage.
- Full-time, year-round work. We don’t lay off for winter
- Foremen who’ll teach you the high end detail work if you’ve got the structural fundamentals
