Job Title: Construction Labourer – Residential Concrete Formwork / Cribbing

Overview

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Construction Labourer to join our team specializing in residential concrete formwork and cribbing. In this role, you will play a critical part in setting the foundation for residential projects by helping erect, pour, and strip basement walls, footings, and retaining structures. While previous cribbing or forming experience is a robust asset, we highly value a robust work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn the trade. This is a paid, full-time position.

Responsibilities

- Cribbing Assembly & Bracing: Assist lead cribbers in setting up, leveling, locking, and bracing wooden, aluminum, or modular forming systems for residential foundations and basement walls.
- Footings & Rebar Prep: Help place and level footings, tie rebar, and install structural mesh, anchor bolts, or window wells prior to pouring.
- Pour Support & Consolidation: Assist during concrete pours by managing pump truck chutes, vibrating wet concrete to eliminate honeycombs, and screeding top surfaces to grade.
- Stripping & Oiling:



Carefully strip and dismantle cribbing panels post-cure, scrape off residual concrete, apply form oil, and neatly stack/stage materials for the next job.
- Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and carry heavy cribbing plates, ties, pins, scaffolding, and lumber across residential job sites.
- Site Housekeeping & Safety: Clean and prepare work areas, clear dirt/debris from trenches, strictly follow safety procedures, and wear required PPE.

Skills & Qualifications

- Cribbing Experience: Prior experience is not necessary, on site training is provided.
- Physical Stamina: Able to perform demanding physical labor, including heavy lifting (up to 50+ lbs), continuous bending, and standing for long hours in all weather conditions.
- Tool Proficiency: Not necessary, training is provided.
- Team-Oriented: Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to take rapid direction from the cribbing foreman.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
