Shift Schedule & Hours:

- Monday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Hours: 4–8 hours per week

The Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Langley Willoughby offers the world’s most successful after-school learning program. We strive to help every child who enters our center realize their maximum potential and become a strong, independent learner.

Role Overview

Centre Assistants support the Instructor and/or Assistant Instructors in a variety of instructional and center management tasks. Specific responsibilities are assigned based on the daily needs of the center.

Key Responsibilities

Grading & Instruction:

- Grade student classwork, homework, and corrections accurately, ensuring work is completed to 100%.
- Assess oral reading ability with reading students and provide helpful feedback.
- Provide assistance and guidance to students as needed, adhering to Kumon Method standards and center procedures.
- Observe student performance and provide the Instructor with timely written or verbal feedback.




- Collaborate with other grading assistants to manage workload efficiently and complete all grading before the end of class.

General Center Support:

- Relay messages and parent concerns to the Instructor or Assistant Instructor in a timely manner.
- Prepare student files and instructional materials.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the Kumon Method and worksheets.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, student retention events (e.g., student awards, goal-setting parties), and customer service as needed.

Qualifications

- Proficient math and reading skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills (intermediate written communication preferred).
- Basic computer literacy.
- Customer-service-oriented mindset with a positive, skilled attitude.

Job Requirements

- Must pass a Criminal Record Check for working with the vulnerable sector.
