Woodcastle Homes Management is looking for a lead hand who can run the day-to-day on our residential new builds, renovations, and addition sites. This is a hands-on leadership role: you are the person on site making sure the work happens in the right order, to the right standard, with the right people there at the right time. You will manage all aspects of the job between subcontractors — scheduling and sequencing trades, checking quality before the next trade covers it up, keeping the site protected and organized, and keeping the project manager in the loop on progress, problems, and what's needed next. Location: Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga, Oakville, Etobicoke, Toronto), Ontario Job type: Full-time, permanent — payroll or subcontract arrangement, candidate's choice Start: Immediately Pay: Wage negotiable, based on experience Duties: - Run daily site operations across residential new builds, renovations, and additions. - Schedule, sequence, and coordinate subcontractors (framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, tile, millwork, painting, etc.) so trades aren't tripping over each other. - Read and work from architectural drawings, structural drawings, and specifications; flag discrepancies before they become rework. - Inspect work in progress and on completion; reject and correct substandard work early, not after it's buried.



- Enforce site safety: toolbox talks, PPE, Working at Heights compliance, tidy and secure site. - Coordinate material deliveries and confirm what's on site matches what's needed. - Keep daily site records: progress, crew/sub hours, deliveries, issues, photos. - Communicate with the project manager, designers, and homeowners as needed — clearly and professionally. - Jump in with the tools when the job needs hands, not just supervision. Requirements: - 5+ years in residential construction, with framing and finishing experience. - Proven experience coordinating subcontractors on site (not just working alongside them). - Able to read drawings and specs and run a job from them with minimal supervision. - Strong eye for quality and finish. - Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation; own tools required. A company truck can be supplied if you don't have one. - Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR. - Organized, communicative, calm under schedule pressure.
