Must love working in the infant/toddler program with more than 3 years of experience. We are opted into the government funded wage enhancement so with proper certification you will receive the additional $6 an hour.
An Academics Teacher at Westwood enjoys a close-knit team environment that promotes ongoing learning and supportive relationships. Working with children between the ages of 10 months and 5 years in our 9 classrooms, means that you understand and demonstrate that building and maintaining trusting relationships with children is the basis of all nurturing care and developmental activities. Although a planned curriculum is provided, it’s used as a foundation that may be built upon further with your own imagination and creativity, and support is provided for materials and tools you would like for your classroom activities. Our goal is to provide our children with as many engaging learning opportunities as possible and to foster and inspire their intrigue in and desire for learning. Learning from and with others is important, and regular coaching, development sessions, and sharing of ideas is commonplace and expected. Supportive leadership with years of experience in the field ensures our teachers’ success with all aspects of the position.
