Job Overview

- We are seeking a patient-focused Orthodontic Dental Hygienist to support high-quality care in an orthodontic practice. The ideal candidate is attentive, organized, and comfortable working with patients of different ages.
- The role involves collaborating with orthodontists and dental team members to help patients maintain valuable oral health throughout orthodontic treatment.
- Prior orthodontic or dental office experience is preferred. Relevant licensure and credentials required to practice as a dental hygienist must be current and appropriate for the location.

Duties

- Provide preventive oral health care and hygiene services within the scope of the role and applicable regulations.
- Educate patients on brushing, flossing, and oral hygiene techniques, including care for braces and other orthodontic appliances.
- Support patient comfort and communicate clearly during appointments, particularly with pediatric patients and their families.
- Document patient information, treatment notes, and follow-up needs accurately in the dental record.
- Coordinate with orthodontists and other team members to support efficient appointments and continuity of care.
- Help maintain clean, organized treatment areas and follow infection-control and patient-safety procedures.
- Assist with patient flow, appointment preparation, and other clinical tasks appropriate to training and scope of practice.

Skills

- Knowledge of orthodontics and preventive dental care; orthodontic experience is a plus.
- Current dental hygienist credentials required for the applicable jurisdiction.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a calm, respectful approach to patients.
- Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients and adults.
- Familiarity with Ortho 2 or similar dental practice-management software is preferred.
- Understanding of medical terminology and accurate clinical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, teamwork, and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
