Overview

The Early Childhood Educator supports children’s learning, development, and well-being through attentive caregiving and engaging experiences in both the classroom and outdoors. This role helps create a welcoming setting where children can explore, build relationships, and develop confidence.

Small home style daycare (maximum 5 kids ; 18+ years)

Duties

- Provide attentive caregiving and support children’s daily routines, safety, and well-being.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate teaching activities that encourage curiosity, communication, and social development.
- Observe children’s interests and progress, and share relevant updates with families and colleagues.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects individual needs and supports participation.
- Facilitate outdoor learning, hikes, and explorative play.

Qualifications

Required:

- Bring practical caregiving, teaching, and classroom skills to support children’s daily needs and learning. Communicate observations clearly, respond patiently, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment.

- Comfortable in the outdoors and able to stand/walk for long periods of time in various weather conditions.

Preferred:

- Experience working with children and a background in early childhood education are valuable.

- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is also an asset, supporting inclusive interactions and thoughtful adaptation of activities.

- Experience with outdoor learning

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
