Director of Financial Reporting - (Maternity Leave Contract)
Location: Predominantly remote (one in-office day per month)
Term: 20~month fixed-term contract, on the company's payroll
Reports to: VP Finance
The opportunity
A growing Toronto-based SaaS company is looking for a Director of Financial Reporting to take ownership of its financial reporting function for a maternity-leave coverage term. This is a genuine leadership seat — not a backfill pair of hands. You'll lead a team of two, own the audit and compliance calendar across multiple international jurisdictions, and work directly with senior finance leadership.
What you'll own
- Financial reporting and compliance for a multi-entity business
- End-to-end ownership of the external audit cycle
- Tax filings and statutory reporting across several international jurisdictions (including the UK, Australia, and Latin America)
- Leadership of a two-person team — a Senior Accountant and a Financial Reporting Manager
- A structured handover and cross-training period with the incumbent before their leave begins
What you bring
- Roughly 8–15 years of total experience, including time leading financial reporting in a multi-entity environment
- Robust IFRS knowledge; ASC 606 / SaaS revenue-recognition experience is a real asset
- Experience with multi-jurisdiction statutory filings and audit completion
- CPA designation
- A track record of leading a small team through reporting cycles
The package
- Base salary (competitive), paid on the company's payroll
- End-of-term retention bonus of 10–15% for completing the full term
- Conversion to a permanent role is possible, though not guaranteed
Pay: $150,000.00-$170,000.00 per year
