Temporary Infant Care Support

HCA or LPN | Temporary Employee

Location: SW / Central Calgary
Dates: November 6 to 16, 2026 (possibility this will be extended)
Schedule: Split shifts, 0630 to 0930 and 1700 to 2100 daily
Pay: Starting at $23/hr (HCA) and $27/hr (LPN or 4th year BSN/BScN student), based on experience and education

Compass Rose Care is a nurse-led private home care company in Calgary. Our caregivers are clinically supervised, and every client has a care plan built by a Registered Nurse.

About the Role

A family with a young baby needs extra hands while one parent is in hospital. The other parent is at home caring for the baby and an older child. This is a stressful time for them, and mornings and evenings are the hardest part of the day.

You would be there to:

- Feed, bathe, and settle the baby for bed; or get the baby up and ready for the day in the morning
- Clean and sanitize bottles and feeding supplies
- Help with light tidying around the baby’s care
- Bring a calm, steady presence so the household can breathe a little easier

This is not a typical newborn visit. You need to read the room, stay quiet when that helps, and pitch in without being asked.

What We Require:

- Current LPN registration with CLPNA,



or completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program in Alberta
- Hands-on experience caring for infants, including bottle feeding and bathing
- Experience supporting families in their homes is preferred
- Current CPR Level C or BLS/HCP from Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or St. John Ambulance
- Transparent Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Up-to-date immunizations, including pertussis (Tdap), influenza, and COVID-19

The family has requested a female caregiver for this assignment.

Preference Given To

Applicants who can cover all, or most, of the shifts. Consistency matters for the baby and for a family already stretched thin.
