Job Overview

- The Food Service Associate supports daily food-service operations by preparing and serving food, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean, safe work workplace.
- This customer-facing role calls for strong customer service, time management, and communication skills, along with a commitment to food quality and safety.
- Prior food service experience is helpful but not required; experience in a restaurant, kitchen, or other part of the food industry is a plus.

Duties

- Prepare menu items and assist with food preparation according to established recipes and procedures.
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, answer questions, and help create a welcoming experience.
- Operate a POS system, including Micros POS where applicable, to enter orders and process transactions.
- Perform cashiering and cash handling, and use basic math and math skills to verify orders and transactions.
- Recommend menu items and use appropriate upselling techniques to help customers choose products.
- Follow food handling and food safety practices,



including proper storage and temperature control.
- Maintain clean workstations, dining areas, and equipment in accordance with sanitation procedures.
- Support serving, restocking, and other kitchen or service tasks as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to keep service organized during busy periods.

Experience

- Food service experience, restaurant experience, or food industry experience is preferred.
- Kitchen experience, food preparation, or serving experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is beneficial.
- Experience with cashiering and cash handling is helpful.
- Applicants should be comfortable learning food-handling, food-safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Strong customer service, time management, attention to detail, and basic math skills are important.

Pay: $17.60-$19.91 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
