We are looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and caring Children’s Dance Teachers to join our growing team.

The Position

As a Children’s Dance Teacher, you will introduce children from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 6 to the joy of Ballet and Hip Hop in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.

Our classes are recreational, not competitive. We focus on creating positive first experiences with dance while helping every child develop their skills and confidence.

We are looking for teachers who love working with children just as much as they love dancing!

Key Responsibilities

- Teach engaging, age-appropriate recreational Ballet and Hip Hop classes.
- Follow Dance Kids Canada’s established curriculum and lesson plans.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Learn every child’s name and provide individual attention.
- Teach proper dance technique through creative, progressive instruction.
- Maintain effective classroom management and student safety.
- Take attendance and complete required administrative tasks.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and management.
- Prepare students for seasonal dance recitals.
- Arrive on time, appropriately dressed, organized, and ready to teach.
- Participate in ongoing teacher training, classroom observations, and career development.





Qualifications

Required:

- Genuine enthusiasm for teaching children.
- Previous dance training in Ballet, Hip Hop, or both.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependability, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow an established curriculum and accept constructive feedback.
- Willingness to complete required teacher training.
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.

An Asset:

- Previous experience teaching dance to children.
- Experience working with children in recreation, education, camps, or childcare.
- Knowledge of Ballet and Hip Hop fundamentals.
- First Aid and CPR certification.

Work Schedule

- Part-time teaching opportunities.
- Classes take place at community locations throughout Toronto.
- Consistent weekly teaching assignments.
- Additional opportunities may be available as our programs grow.
