Our client is seeking a Project Accountant to join their Calgary team on a long-term contract basis. This role will support project-based construction work and operational accounting, with a focus on full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned projects and operational contracts, maintaining accurate financial records.
Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, general ledger reviews, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Monitor project costs, track performance against budgets, and assist with forecasting.
Review invoices, billings, and account coding in collaboration with AP, AR, and procurement teams.
Partner with operational leaders and contract stakeholders to ensure accurate recording of expenses, revenue, and commitments.
Prepare financial information for audits, management reporting, and internal presentations.
Support project close-outs and accounting activities for existing and new construction initiatives.
Use Oracle project accounting tools to record transactions, analyze project results, and monitor contract performance.

Requirements:
3–4 years of experience in project accounting, construction accounting, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including month-end close, reconciliations, invoicing, and journal entries.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, and project cost tracking.
Understanding of billing processes, financial reviews, and general ledger accuracy.
Ability to collaborate with operations, internal audit, procurement,



and AP/AR teams.
Experience with project accounting systems; Oracle project accounting is an asset.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
