Director of People | Jarvis | [Toronto/ Hybrid] Want to lead the People function at a company whose mission is equalizing opportunity? Now we need a Director of People to lead the function that makes it all work. This isn’t a “keep the lights on” HR role. You’ll own HR strategy end to end: building programs, automating what’s still manual and coaching our leaders. You’ll also stay close enough to handle the hard conversations yourself. What you’ll own: Strategy & programs
• Build and launch HR programs, policies and processes that move the business forward
• Lead internal workforce planning and headcount planning, including interview design, comp recommendations and approvals
• Streamline and automate the employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, and comp and org changes Employee relations & leadership
• Be the trusted advisor to managers and employees on policy, conflict and tough calls
• Own all HR escalations, terminations and disciplinary matters
• Keep us compliant with labour law in every location we operate Total rewards
• Maintain our pay bands and pay equity,



and level current roles with our job evaluation tool
• Own payroll across multiple streams in partnership with Finance
• Manage contracts for internal staff and consultants Culture & inclusion
• Grow an inclusive culture that lives our mission and drives engagement and retention
• Lead DEI strategy and programs
• Drive internal and external community engagement What you bring
• 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3–4+ years in leadership
• Deep knowledge of HR best practice, employment law and organizational development
• Prior experience working for a consulting firm (or similar industries)
• A track record as an HR business partner who coaches senior leaders
• The ability to drive change through complex organizational dynamics
• Experience negotiating contracts and compensation
• HRIS and ATS experience (we use HiBob)
• A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or a related field Bonus points
• CHRP or CHRL
