Technical Product Manager (Full-Time)Position Overview

We are a GPS-based technology company seeking a Technical Product Manager to manage and continuously improve an established software product serving a specialized market.

The role involves working closely with customers to understand their business needs, define product requirements, prioritize enhancements, and coordinate development with our engineering team.

The position requires robust technical aptitude, practical product management skills, and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable development requirements.

A secondary responsibility is overseeing customer support requests, ensuring issues are appropriately assigned, tracked, and communicated through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management

- Own and maintain the product roadmap, development priorities, and backlog.
- Work directly with customers to understand business processes, requirements, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate customer needs into clear functional and technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Define requirements for application features, workflows, APIs, integrations, reporting, and analytics.
- Use UI prototyping tools to develop and communicate application designs and requirements.
- Coordinate with software development and QA teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
- Evaluate completed work, coordinate testing, and support product releases.
- Communicate development priorities, progress, and timelines to customers and internal stakeholders.

Customer Support Coordination

- Review incoming customer support requests, assess urgency, and determine appropriate handling.
- Distinguish between technical problems, defects, training needs, and enhancement requests.
- Assign issues to appropriate technical resources and establish priorities.
- Track outstanding issues,



follow up on progress, and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure customers receive timely and accurate updates through resolution.
- Identify recurring issues and customer feedback that should influence product improvements.

Technical Skills & Experience

- Experience in technical product management, software development coordination, or a closely related role.
- Ability to gather, analyze, document, and communicate business and technical requirements.
- Understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, databases, and data flows.
- Familiarity with SQL, JSON, XML, and common web technologies.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, user stories, and backlog management.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Jira, Slack, Postman, and UI prototyping tools.
- Understanding of reporting, analytics, dashboards, and data-driven applications.
- Familiarity with GPS technology, vehicle tracking, telematics, mapping, and location-based services is an asset.

Work Schedule & Location

- Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week.
- Flexible weekday hours, typically between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- In-office Tuesday through Thursday at our downtown Kelowna office, with the option to work remotely Monday and Friday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
