Renert School, one of Calgary's leading private schools, located in Royal Oak NW, is launching a String Orchestra program for the 2026-27 school year for Elementary students (Grades 1--5). We are looking for experienced Strings Teachers to join us. We are hiring for violin, viola, and cello.

Two after-school orchestras will run on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. starting in late November. Most students are beginners and some are intermediate. We are looking for teachers who can help our young musicians build confidence, technique, and a love of ensemble playing.

Responsibilities

- Teach violin, viola, or cello to small groups within the orchestra setting
- Support beginner and intermediate students with technique, reading, and ensemble skills
- Help with instrument fitting and care
- Communicate with the program lead and with families as needed

Qualifications

- Strong performance ability on violin, viola, or cello
- Experience teaching children and adolescents, in a school, studio, or ensemble setting
- Patience,



warmth, and a collaborative approach
- Ability to make learning music a joyful experience
- Music education training or a relevant degree (preferred)
- Ability to teach multiple instruments (preferred)
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector search required prior to starting

Schedule

Lesson times on Mondays to Fridays, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., and also Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We can be versatile to give you shifts that suit your existing schedule.
