SASHA Supportive Living has an opening for Overnight Weekend Client Support Workers to support mental health clients in a 24 hour residential program. SASHA is currently hiring for weekend shifts. Successful applicants will be required to work overnight shifts from 12:00am - 8:00am. These are awake shifts.

Candidates require a clear criminal record check including the vulnerable sector issued within the last 6 months. Employment cannot commence until this has been submitted.

A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required and a 3-year Driver's Abstract must be submitted prior to hire.

Duties include:

- Client support with daily living skills, community integration, recreation, residential living, and individual goal achievement
- Assess and assist clients in managing symptoms through redirection, medication management, education, communication through verbal and written reporting
- Monitor medication compliance, provide reminders, assess and document compliance, report concerns to the Case Manager
- Assess and support client’s personal care routine, nutrition and meal preparation, laundry and basic household maintenance
- Direct interaction and rapport building with clients in a variety of situations




- Crisis management and interacting with clients or community resources such as EMS in a fast paced or stressful situation.
- Weekly disposal of overflow garbage or large household items by taking them to the landfill on Saturdays.

Education:

- Some college/university education in related field,
- Experience in mental health/group homes an asset,
- Additional training is available upon commencement.

Valid driver’s license and criminal record/vulnerable sector check required prior to start date.

Southern Alberta Self-Help Association (SASHA) is a non-profit community organization that promotes the independence of adults with mental illness by means of supportive housing, programs, and activities. SASHA operates out of 3 group homes in Lethbridge. We are recovery focused and teach/encourage independent living skills. Participants have required programming.
