Key Responsibilities

- Independently set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment and other machine tools for precision machining, including drilling and milling.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and sample parts, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances and complete machining, deburring, and part inspections.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, boring bars, fixtures, and inserts, and verify tooling condition.
- Determine suitable speeds and feeds, adjust CNC programs and tooling offsets, and update machining documentation for part revisions.
- Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, inside and outside micrometers, depth gauges, and indicators.
- Perform and document manual inspections to verify that finished parts meet specifications.
- Create and update non-conforming product records, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Use scheduling software to review upcoming jobs and production requirements.




- Prepare tooling requests and machining instructions for new, transferred, and existing parts.
- Participate in design reviews and prototype machining as required.
- Mentor and train employees and assist with prioritizing work across machining centres when assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Follow workplace safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and promptly report hazards, incidents, and near misses.

Qualifications

- Five or more years of machining experience, or equivalent demonstrated competency.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to independently set up and operate CNC equipment.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T.;
- Experience adjusting CNC programs and tooling offsets.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, precision measuring instruments, and inspection methods.
- Effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to organize work, manage competing priorities, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Comfort using tablets, computer workstations, and scheduling applications.
- Ability to provide clear direction, follow instructions, and support employee training and development.
