About the Position

Snickers Pizza Bar is a restaurant located in Powell River, British Columbia, providing pizza, prepared meals, beverages, dine-in and take-out food services. We are seeking an experienced Food Service Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation of our kitchen and food service team.

The successful candidate will coordinate food preparation and service activities, supervise staff, maintain food quality and safety standards, and assist with inventory, scheduling and operational procedures.

Main Duties

- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cooks, cook helpers, servers and other food service staff, assigning duties according to customer volume and operational needs.
- Coordinate pizza and food preparation activities, including ingredient preparation, portioning, topping, cooking and final quality checks, ensuring menu items are prepared consistently and efficiently.
- Coordinate kitchen and front-of-house workflow during busy service periods to ensure food orders are prepared accurately, packaged properly and served or delivered within appropriate service times.
- Train and assist staff in food preparation procedures, food handling, sanitation, workplace safety, customer service and established restaurant operating procedures.




- Monitor food quality and safety, including food handling, storage, temperature control, cleanliness and sanitation, and ensure staff follow applicable health and safety requirements.
- Monitor inventory and supplies, including pizza ingredients, food products, packaging and kitchen supplies; maintain related records and assist with ordering, receiving, food-cost control and waste reduction.
- Assist management with daily restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, opening and closing procedures, addressing customer concerns, and maintaining an organized and effective food service environment.

Employment Requirements

- Completion of a community college program in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management, or a related discipline or several years of experience in food preparation or food service.
- Completion of secondary school is usually required.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity in a food service, restaurant, bakery, or similar food-production environment is an asset.

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
