Build Something Exceptional With KingsRidge

At KingsRidge Building Group, we believe exceptional projects start long before construction begins. They start with thoughtful planning, accurate estimating, attention to detail, and a team committed to doing things right.

For over 20 years, we’ve been designing and building custom homes, luxury renovations, additions, and outdoor living spaces throughout York Region and surrounding communities.

We’re looking for an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our growing team.

This is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, understands residential construction, and enjoys turning architectural drawings and project concepts into accurate, well-organized construction estimates.

We’re not simply looking for someone who can put numbers together. We’re looking for someone who understands the construction process, thinks critically, identifies potential challenges, and takes ownership of their work.

If you’re highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoy working alongside a team that values quality and craftsmanship, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As our Residential Construction Estimator, you’ll play a key role in the preconstruction process, ensuring our projects are accurately estimated, thoroughly planned, and positioned for successful execution.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Prepare accurate, detailed construction estimates for custom homes, renovations, additions, and outdoor living projects.
- Review architectural drawings, structural plans, specifications, and project documentation to determine construction requirements.
- Perform detailed material takeoffs and calculate labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop comprehensive scopes of work for each trade and project phase.
- Request, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and competitive pricing.
- Identify potential construction challenges, missing information, and cost implications before projects begin.
- Prepare preliminary project budgets and detailed estimates as designs progress.
- Work collaboratively with our design, project management, and construction teams to ensure accurate project pricing.
- Research construction methods, materials, and alternative solutions to improve project value and efficiency.
- Maintain organized estimating records, pricing databases, and project documentation.
- Continuously improve estimating systems, processes, and cost accuracy.

- Support a clear and organized handoff from estimating to the project management team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical construction knowledge with exceptional organization, accountability, and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years of residential construction estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, building assemblies, and project sequencing.
- Experience estimating renovations, additions, custom homes, or similar residential construction projects.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Experience completing detailed material takeoffs and preparing comprehensive construction estimates.
- Strong understanding of labour, material, and subcontractor costs.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general construction estimating software.
- A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and personal accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years of residential construction estimating experience.
- Previous hands-on residential construction experience.
- Experience estimating high-end custom homes and complex renovations.
- Familiarity with Buildertrend or similar construction management platforms.
- Experience developing and maintaining construction cost databases.
- Understanding of the Ontario Building Code and residential construction practices.
