We are seeking a mature and highly skilled, detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join our finance team of our small manufacturing company located in the 401 and Markham road area. This role is a permanent full time position working in office 5 days a week. This role is vital in managing accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial analysis plus support in administration area. Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry and transaction recording using accounting software
- Coordinate between departments
- Preform administrative support
- Preform invoicing
- Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, credit accounts, and other financial accounts
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accuracy in employee payments
- Prepare financial reports, summaries, and statements for management review
- Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses against forecasts and providing insights for financial planning
- Maintain organized records of all financial documents
- Provide targeted research and data results for departments
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Understanding in accounting software platforms
- Solid understanding of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliation procedures
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and account analysis
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards
