Job Summary:

The Senior Technology Architect is responsible for developing, recommending, implementing, and managing comprehensive technical architectures across diverse platforms in a large, distributed environment. This role leads infrastructure scaling, middleware, and database solutions, ensuring optimal system performance, security, and integration while supporting enterprise-wide analytics and modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage technical architecture for hardware, software, databases, and communications.
- Lead infrastructure activities including patching, deployments, and server OS upgrades.
- Provide middleware development and operational support for IBM TRIRIGA, WebSphere, and related systems.
- Design and architect system and data integration solutions.
- Support Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, and other database environments including capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as operation manuals and architecture documents.
- Monitor user access, security, and database performance to ensure rapid query responses.
- Lead upgrade and migration projects for Oracle and related technologies.
- Participate in planning, change request assessments, release management, and stakeholder communications.
- Support IAM modernization and analytics platform improvements across enterprise projects.

Required Skills:
- Minimum 10 years' experience with Oracle Database (including RAC) and administration of Oracle 19c or newer.
- Extensive experience with IBM TRIRIGA, WebSphere, and IBM IHS middleware installation, configuration, and upgrades.
- Proficiency in Unix (Solaris, Linux) and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and SQL Server 2016 with SSRS implementation.
- Strong skills in database backup, recovery, clustering, flashback, and Dataguard technologies.
- Expertise in system and data integration architecture and performance tuning.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.




- Experience in capacity planning and infrastructure scaling initiatives.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and enterprise architecture deliverables.
- Proven ability to work with ambiguous requirements to find pragmatic solutions.

Desired Skills:
- Experience with Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture frameworks and processes.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management systems such as Open Text ECM.
- Familiarity with Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
- Experience with Hadoop installation, configuration, and support.
- Background in Single Sign-On architecture and OPS Go-Secure technology.
- Experience supporting large-scale Business Intelligence applications (20TB+).
- Exposure to DB2 9.7 Database Administration.

Must Haves:
- 10+ years of Oracle Database administration and architecture experience.
- Proven expertise in middleware technologies including IBM TRIRIGA and WebSphere.
- Extensive Unix and Windows Server administration experience.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience leading infrastructure patching, deployments, and capacity planning.
- Ability to work onsite 5 days as required.
- Previous experience in a public sector organization of comparable size and complexity.
