Job Summary:

The Senior Information Architect will provide expert information architecture expertise to support enterprise-wide and complex systems and infrastructure needs. This role involves developing and maintaining information architecture frameworks, standards, and artefacts to enable interoperability, data governance, and digital transformation initiatives across multiple business domains.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive architecture needs assessments and complex reviews for enterprise and client systems.
- Define, identify, and describe information architecture requirements with stakeholders and obtain approvals.
- Develop detailed plans and resource estimates for large-scale information architecture projects.
- Research, develop, implement, and maintain information architecture policies, standards, and best practices.
- Lead or participate in sensitive information architecture investigations and enterprise-wide projects.
- Develop information architecture specifications for RFPs and assist in vendor assessments and contract negotiations.
- Provide expert advice and interpretation on information architecture to project teams, management, and external contractors.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to establish common business terminology and information requirements.
- Create and maintain information architecture artefacts such as logical data models, taxonomies, glossaries, and semantic models.

Required Skills:
- Proven experience defining and obtaining approval for information architecture requirements.
- Expertise in developing enterprise information architecture frameworks, principles, standards, and roadmaps.
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, business glossaries, classification frameworks, and metadata standards.
- Strong knowledge of information governance, stewardship, and lifecycle management principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Collibra, or equivalent metadata management solutions.




- Demonstrated ability to support enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Desired Skills:
- Experience with semantic technologies, ontology concepts, and knowledge graph initiatives.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Familiarity with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards.
- Experience managing competing priorities and tight timelines.
- Prior experience in public sector information architecture programs.
