AECOM is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Structural Engineer to support the design and construction of infrastructure projects within the Buildings + Places business line. This prospect is based in our Halifax, Nova Scotia office, with hybrid work options available.
AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing, fully integrated team spanning architecture, all building engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics, and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical resource and technical advisor to the team.
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and designs within the area of expertise.
- Develop study and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
- Apply technical expertise throughout the preparation of discipline-specific contract documents.
- Perform quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
- Prepare technical specification sections.
- Contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements.
- Mentor junior and intermediate structural engineering staff.
- Assist the team manager in prioritizing workloads and projects for CADD and Revit production technicians and technologists.
- Liaise with other discipline leads to meet client performance objectives in an optimized and value-added manner.
