Care Assistant – Job DescriptionOverview

Saffron Care is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Care Assistants to support individuals with their daily living needs. In this rewarding role, you will help promote clients’ independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being across home care, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other care settings.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with clients’ dietary requirements and restrictions.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication-related tasks within the scope of training and authorization.
- Observe and report changes in clients’ physical health, emotional well-being, or behaviour to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
- Offer companionship, emotional support, and meaningful social interaction.
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Follow individualized care plans, workplace policies, and instructions from healthcare professionals.
- Support clients living with dementia, mobility challenges, or other care needs while respecting their dignity,



privacy, and independence.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

- Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, assisted living, or a similar caregiving role is preferred.
- Knowledge of personal care practices, meal preparation, and dietary restrictions.
- Familiarity with dementia care and the needs of individuals experiencing memory loss is an asset.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach when supporting clients, including those receiving palliative or hospice care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with clients, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe care environment.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing client needs and work independently or as part of a team.

Job Types: Full time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
