Summary
The role of the assistant is crucial to a harmonious Montessori setting that supports the development of children’s independence and concentration, facilitates children’s interactions and opportunities to help each other and allows the guide/teacher to fully implement her role.
Responsibilities
- Support students as they take part in classroom activities.
- Assist teachers with classroom learning and routines.
- Encourage students’ engagement and independence in age-appropriate ways.
- Communicate with teachers about students’ participation and support needs.
- Help maintain a welcoming, respectful classroom environment.
- Qualifications
- Educational Assistant certificate or Diploma or similar training.
- Relevant classroom experience and teaching skills.
- Clear, supportive communication skills.
- Preferred: Familiarity with inclusive education supports or Montessori.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
