Class B Refrigeration Operator – Ammonia Refrigeration

A well-established, privately owned food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Class B Refrigeration Operator to join its maintenance team in North York.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a licensed refrigeration professional who enjoys troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and keeping critical plant systems running safely and reliably.

You'll work in a high-volume food manufacturing setting with modern refrigeration and freezer systems, while having the opportunity to grow within a stable organization.

What You'll Be Doing

- Operate, monitor and maintain ammonia refrigeration and freezer systems
- Troubleshoot refrigeration and plant equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
- Respond to equipment issues and help minimize production downtime
- Support equipment upgrades, modifications and installations
- Assist with machining, welding/fabrication and general mechanical work as required
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow established procedures
- Follow GMP, food safety and workplace safety requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes





What We're Looking For

- Valid Class B Refrigeration Operator licence – required
- 3+ years of industrial refrigeration or related experience
- Hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
- Experience in food manufacturing or another industrial environment is an asset
- Class 3 or Class 4 Stationary Engineer certification is an asset
- Millwright or Electrician certification is an asset
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and respond effectively to equipment issues
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Comfortable working rotating shifts and weekends as required
