About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on AWS engineer who can design, build, and ship serverless and containerized API solutions, and who is comfortable applying up-to-date AI tooling in day-to-day development. You'll architect AWS solutions end to end, write production Node.js/TypeScript services, and manage infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

- Design and architect scalable, secure AWS solutions
- Build and maintain APIs and services using Lambda, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, and DynamoDB
- Manage configuration and secrets with Systems Manager Parameter Store and Secrets Manager
- Implement least-privilege access and security best practices with IAM
- Define and deploy infrastructure as code for APIs and services
- Integrate AI capabilities into applications and workflows (LLMs, prompts, vector search, MCP)
- Collaborate with the team in Jira and Confluence, and document designs and APIs

Required Skills

- AWS (must be proficient): Lambda, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB,



Systems Manager Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, IAM
- Languages: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Infrastructure as code for APIs and services (e.g., CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, or SAM)
- Proven ability to design and architect AWS solutions
- AI: Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, Model Context Protocol (MCP), vector databases/embeddings, LLMs, and prompt engineering

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience building on AWS
- 5+ years of Node.js/TypeScript development
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- AWS certification (Solutions Architect or Developer) is a plus

Pay: From $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (Toronto District)
