We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our busy insurance defence practice and have an immediate opening in our Downtown Toronto office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the legal and administrative practices of a partner and associate lawyer. Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

- 2-3 years of experience in Insurance Defence Litigation, tort and accident benefit files;

- Law Clerk or Legal Assistant diploma/certification from an accredited institution;

- Solid understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure;

- Excellent oral and written communication skills;





- Detail oriented with an ability to prioritize.

Primary duties will consist of the following:

- File organization and practice management;

- Preparation of correspondence, briefs, memos and other legal documents in accordance with the Rules of Civil Procedure;

- Maintain lawyers' calendars;

- Schedule meetings, discoveries, motions, mediations and pre-trials;

- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Soluno as well as possessing a minimum typing speed of 60wpm;

- Work well independently and thrive in a team environment and;

- Assist with other administrative tasks as required.
