The company
The Plug Promotions Corp. produces large-scale South Asian festivals. Our two flagships — Stampede Mela in Calgary and 6ix Mela in Toronto — bring the biggest names in Punjabi music and culture to an audience mainstream festivals consistently underserve. 6ix Mela's 2026 debut was an 8,000-capacity Toronto show headlined by Nav. In 2027 we're scaling from two festivals to four shows across New York, Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary.
The role
You own the sponsorship revenue line for the entire portfolio, end to end: build the inventory, hunt the brands, close the deals, make sure every sponsor gets what they paid for, and renew them into multi-year partners. You report directly to ownership — deals get decided in one conversation, not three weeks of committee review.
Your floor: $250,000 in sponsorship revenue across the 2027 portfolio.
What you'll do
- Build the book. Sponsorship inventory and rate cards across all four festivals: title and presenting sponsorships, stage naming, in office activations and sampling, VIP hospitality, digital and social packages, artist and content integrations.
- Hunt. Build the target list — telecom, banking, food & beverage, automotive, airlines, retail, streaming, media — and work it yourself: outreach, warm introductions, agencies, industry events.
- Close. Tailor every pitch to the brand, negotiate terms,
paper the deal, collect the money.
- Deliver. Work with our production and marketing teams so every sponsor asset ships on time and on brand.
- Renew. Own the post-event report — impressions, activation recaps, results — that turns a first-year sponsor into a multi-year partner.
- Run a clean pipeline. CRM discipline, weekly forecasts, honest numbers.
What you bring
- 3+ years closing sponsorship, partnership, or integrated-marketing revenue — festivals, live events, sports, media, or agency side — with deals you can point to
- An existing network of brand and agency decision-makers, ideally including buyers of multicultural and South Asian media
- Polished pitch and negotiation skills; comfort in the room with marketing directors and CMOs
- Nice to have: Punjabi or Hindi, a genuine feel for the Punjabi music and culture scene, and US brand relationships for the New York show
Compensation
- Open to discussion with multiple arrangements including base available.
Why now
Brands build their 2027 budgets in Q4 2026, and festival sponsorships are typically locked between January and April. The right person starts now and is in conversations while those budgets are still being written.
Pay: $20,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
