TSSK9 is recruiting an elite K9 Security Officer. The ideal candidate will perform community safety and outreach patrol.

Our security guards work directly with professionally-trained security K9s. Applicants must be experienced with and physically capable of handling protection K9s, including performing routine training and exercise and K9-assisted foot patrols.
Previous RCMP, police, military, K9 handler or similar experience is a strong asset.

Requirements:

- Valid BC Security License (or ability to obtain prior to commencement of position)
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License preferred for mobile patrol assignments
- Permanent, full-time resident of Kelowna, BC
- Previous canine handling experience
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Education in social services, mental health, addictions of community support is a robust asset
- Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

- Ability to perform specific exercises (lifting 50+ lbs,



conducting foot patrols in varying conditions including inclement weather, etc.)
- Conduct canine security patrols of assigned properties and public-facing spaces
- Engage respectfully with community members, including vulnerable individuals
- Solid de-escalation skills required
- Coordinate with clients, outreach agencies, municipal staff, law enforcement and emergency responders
- Recognize crises and respond within the limits of training, licencing and authority
- Prepare accurate patrol logs, incident reports and community engagement records
- Represent the Employer in a respectful and professional manner
- Follow company procedures and provincial requirements

This position is primarily night shift, with occasional daytime shifts as required. Hourly wage ( $30-$39 per hour based on experience)
