Overview

We are seeking a patient and encouraging Math Tutor to help students strengthen their math skills, build confidence, and develop effective learning strategies. The tutor will adapt instruction to each student’s needs and learning style, supporting progress in a welcoming and focused environment. Experience working with children is valued; familiarity with special education or computer science is a plus.

Duties

- Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring in math, adjusting explanations and practice activities to students’ skill levels.
- Teach foundational concepts, problem-solving methods, and study habits while encouraging students to work independently.
- Review assignments, identify learning gaps, and track student progress.
- Prepare lessons and learning materials that support classroom instruction and individual goals.
- Communicate student progress and areas for continued practice to relevant staff or families, as appropriate.




- Use computer skills and digital learning tools to prepare materials, support instruction, and organize student records.
- Maintain a positive, respectful learning environment and adapt teaching approaches for students with diverse learning needs.

Requirements

- Strong math knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
- Tutoring or teaching experience; classroom experience is an asset.
- Experience working with children and a patient, supportive approach.
- Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort using computers and common digital learning tools.
- Familiarity with special education strategies or computer science is a plus.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
