Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cross-Border Dispatcher with national and international dispatching experience to coordinate driver assignments, manage time-sensitive shipments, and ensure the efficient movement of freight across domestic and cross-border routes. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and customer service skills, knowledge of U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and experience handling shipment documentation and customs-related requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain excellent customer service for internal and external customers.
- Dispatch drivers for U.S. domestic shipment pickups and deliveries, ensuring shipments meet scheduled timelines.
- Notify drivers of assignments and coordinate their activities to ensure timely pickup and delivery of cargo.
- Ensure compliance with applicable DOT regulations, company policies, and established operational guidelines.
- Maintain accurate information on shipments under customs control and ensure required documentation is provided to the appropriate import personnel for cargo release.
- Review, verify,



and update shipment information in the computer database.
- Assist with shrink-wrapping, loading, and unloading freight as required.
- Verify the labelling of domestic shipments and document the count and condition of incoming cargo.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve shipment-related issues and support smooth daily operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Previous experience in dispatching, preferably involving national and international or cross-border shipments.
- Knowledge of U.S. domestic transportation operations and DOT regulations.
- Familiarity with customs documentation and shipment release procedures is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple shipments and driver assignments simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency, including data entry and maintaining accurate shipment records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet time-sensitive delivery schedules.
- Willingness to assist with freight handling and other operational duties as required.
