Job Title: Construction Technician
Job Description
The Construction Technician supports a busy modular construction operation by assisting tradespeople and performing a wide range of hands-on tasks involved in building, assembling, and finishing construction modular units. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with tools, and is eager to learn different aspects of construction such as basic wiring, plumbing, framing, and general assembly. You will contribute directly to getting projects completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities
Assist tradespeople with the building and assembly of modular construction units.
Perform a variety of tasks using hand and power tools to support daily construction activities.
Carry out basic wiring, plumbing, framing, and general construction work as directed.
Complete assembly and installation tasks required to finish modular units to specification.
Work on renovation-style projects and general construction labour duties as needed.
Follow instructions and work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with others when required.
Handle materials and equipment safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the yard and bays.
Adhere to all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
Demonstrate reliability, robust work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills and progress to more advanced roles over time.
Essential Skills
Experience working on a construction site or performing outdoor physical work.
Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools in a construction or renovation setting.




Experience with construction, renovations, or general labour in a related field.
Exposure to carpentry and framing tasks.
Basic experience or familiarity with electrical wiring.
Basic experience or familiarity with plumbing tasks.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
Comfort working in varying outdoor and indoor conditions (cold, hot, yard, and bays).
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
You work primarily in the yard and in indoor bays where modular units are built and assembled. Conditions can vary with the weather, so you should be comfortable working in both cold and hot environments. The role involves a mix of independent work and collaboration with other team members to complete projects efficiently. Standard day shift hours run from approximately 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, providing a predictable schedule. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed boots, and you wear typical construction attire such as long-sleeve shirts and durable work clothing suitable for a hands-on, safety-focused construction setting.

Pay and Benefits




The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
