We are seeking Personal Support Workers to assist a female employer to provide personal care and assistance with all activities of daily living.

The employer has a complex medical history, which requires a lot of time and effort to manage, but she is also focused on improving her quality of life despite her disability. She likes to keep busy with things she enjoys such as spending time outside, being creative, and staying as active as possible.

She plans to resume her studies at SFU, so this shift will include support on campus as well as with her evening routine.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess skills such as reliability, responsibility, patience, empathy, willingness to perform messy tasks, attention to detail, solid communication skills, physical strength, and a willingness to learn.

Location:

- Burnaby (Near Dunwood Place Park))

Shifts:

- Wednesday and Friday 10:30AM-1:30PM and 5:30PM-8:30PM
- School Shift - will be with employer at school

Compensation:

- $25.00-$27.00 hour based on experience

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

- Daily personal care such as showering, occasional catheter care, and changing clothes
- Dressing and grooming (knows how to braid and apply make up preferred)
- Assessing skin and wound care
- Donning/Doffing braces and/or compression socks
- Assistance with B12 and Repatha injections - scheduled throughout the month
- Medication Administration
- Light housekeeping such as laundry/changing sheets
- Meal Preparation




- Assistance with Groceries/Errands
- Assistance with Medical Appointments

Required Qualifications:

- Combination of healthcare education background and experience - required
- Class 5 driver's license and reliable means of transportation - required
- First Aide and Food Safe Certification - required
- Experience with Injections - preferred
- Comfortable with Aqua Therapy and Assisting in Pool - preferred
- Fluent in English both written and verbal - preferred
