Center Eight Fifty-Five Holdings manages commercial properties in Burnaby, and the safety of our tenants, visitors, assets, and leadership team is non-negotiable. We're looking for a Head of Security to lead our security operations—building the team, setting the standards, and making sure our people and properties are protected around the clock.

The Role

As Head of Security, you'll oversee all security operations across our properties and provide dedicated security support for company leadership. You'll develop policies, lead and schedule guards, manage incident response, coordinate executive protection for leadership travel and events, and work closely with property management and local authorities. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has done the job on the ground and is ready to run the program.

Duties

- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
- Lead, schedule, train, and evaluate the security team
- Oversee daily patrols, access control, and monitoring across properties
- Provide security for company leadership, including risk assessments for meetings, events, and travel, plus on-site protection as required
- Coordinate executive protection logistics with leadership schedules and external venues
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions
- Liaise with local police, fire services, and emergency responders
- Conduct risk assessments and security audits; identify and close gaps
- Manage security budgets, equipment, and vendor relationships




- Ensure compliance with the BC Private Security Act and all relevant regulations

Experience

- Valid BC Security Worker Licence (Security Guard) and BST certification
- 5+ years of security experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience with executive protection or close protection is a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of security operations, access control, and emergency management
- Experience in commercial or property security is an asset
- Excellent leadership, communication, and de-escalation skills
- Discretion and sound judgment when working with sensitive information and senior leadership
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including on-call for emergencies and leadership requirements
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- First Aid, CPTED, or security management certifications are assets
