- Metrology TechnicianSummary of Position

The Metrology Technician will work with the Metrologist Team Lead to ensure that all analytical equipment in Quality Control is properly qualified, well maintained, remains in a calibrated state, and is in good working order.

Essential Functions

- Perform instrument calibrations and mid-level preventative and corrective maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Support the writing and revision of training SOPs, calibration work instructions, and Quality Control procedures.
- Assist with software validation activities.
- Utilize Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager to establish instrument IDs, maintenance schedules, and work plans.
- Coordinate and support vendor-scheduled services, including reviewing vendor qualification and preventative maintenance documentation.
- Maintain accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
- Perform calculations manually or using validated spreadsheet/computer systems.
- Follow Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and cGMP regulations.
- Comply with laboratory and manufacturing facility safety procedures.
- Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Minimum RequirementsEducation

- Post-secondary education required.
- Preferred degree or coursework in Chemistry, Biochemistry,



or a related scientific discipline.

Experience

- Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

- Knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentation including:
- Infrared Spectroscopy (IR)
- Ultraviolet Spectroscopy (UV)
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
- Gas Chromatography (GC)
- High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Karl Fischer Titration (KF)
- Biological Assays
- Electrophoresis
- Experience working with analytical instruments and laboratory equipment.
- Familiarity with analytical software and computerized laboratory systems.
- Understanding of calibration, qualification, preventive maintenance, and validation activities.
- Experience operating within cGMP and Quality Management System environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 1+ years of analytical laboratory or metrology experience.
- Hands-on experience calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Strong knowledge of HPLC, GC, UV, IR, NMR, or related analytical instruments.
- Experience with SOPs, documentation, and data integrity requirements.
- Familiarity with Blue Mountain, CMMS, or similar asset management systems is preferred.
- Comfortable working in a regulated pharmaceutical, biotech, or Quality Control setting

Pay: $25.12 per hour
