Production Technician

Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick

Our business is growing, and we are looking for a Production Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the company’s production needs by following SOPs to setup and harvest production units following a regimented, established timeline. We are looking for a self-motivated and team-oriented person with strong analytical and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assisting in all aspects of laboratory baculovirus production (insect rearing, diet preparation, virus production & packaging) following SOPs
- Identifying and troubleshooting production issues
- Monitor and maintain production batch records to ensure proper infection, larval development, and reduction of microbial contaminants.
- Assist with all aspects of laboratory baculovirus research as required by Research Manager.
- Assist with all aspects of pheromone lure production as assigned.
- Assist in pheromone trap production as required.
- Employee will be required to work with and handle all life stages of Lymantria dispar, Chrysodeixis Includens, Spodoptra Frugiperda, Orgyia leucostigma, Trichoplusia ni and any other insect species assigned by Andermatt Canada Inc. management depending on project.
- Ensure that complete accounting of activities is reported to the Production Manager at the end of every bi-weekly pay period via WeWorked submitted sheet.




- Ensure that assigned laboratory hygiene and maintenance standards are met as required by Production and Research Managers.
- Ensure that work, learning and professional development plans, and performance appraisals are completed for themselves and their subordinates in a timely manner.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Andermatt Canada Inc. Management with due notice.

REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will possess the following:

- Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience
- A bachelor's degree in biology, laboratory technology, forestry, horticulture, or related field

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

- MUST have own transportation to and from 12 Fairway Dr. Hanwell, NB.
- MUST be able to work an offset week full-time: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8am – 4:30pm.
- MUST be comfortable working with insects (Lepidoptera larvae in rearing enclosures)

- Electronics, robotics, programming (Raspberry Pi eg.) experience considered and asset
- General labour, contracting experience considered an asset

Salary: $20.00 / hr; $41,600.00 salary
